چکیده
We have before us the half-year's Report of this Association (Vol. VI, Pt. I) (from April to September, 1913).* As usual the Report is full of interest on the subject of the treatment of Fractures. Dr. A. B. Herrick writes as follows:? The treatment of the compound fracture became a very important part of this work, and thus far we have never hesitated to operate and plate or fasten the bones in proper position. In the treatment of these fractures, however, we lay special stress upon any operative procedure being performed at once, as soon as the case is received, which usually allows us to treat a compound fracture within a few hours of the injury. We do not close these wounds but usually leave very copious drainage, though a definite rule cannot be laid down for all cases. In general with small compound wounds
